Welcome – We’re So Glad You’re Here
Below is some information that may help answer questions you may have about your visit with us.
As you enter the church doors, you will be greeted warmly and asked to sign our Guest Register. Our ushers will give you an order of worship booklet along with a service bulletin. This will be your guide to our worship service.
Our rector often refers to the Book of Common Prayer (BCP), which is the red book found in the pew rack in front of you. The hymnal has a blue cover. The principal orders of worship (Rites I and II) in the BCP have been duplicated in the booklet you received from the ushers.
Please sit where you are comfortable. If you are concerned about where to sit, an usher will be happy to help you find a location. Individual hearing amplifier receivers are also available from the ushers so please don’t hesitate to ask for one if it will enhance your worship experience.
At the Episcopal Parish of Alton, all baptized Christians are welcome to share the Holy Eucharist (communion). Everyone is welcome to participate in the service. If it is physically difficult for you to walk down the aisle to the altar rail for communion, please let an usher know and the Priest will bring communion to you.
Please feel comfortable asking questions and seeking information from the ushers, greeters, clergy, or staff.
We rejoice you chose to worship with us today and pray your worship experience will be spiritually rich and satisfying. We also hope you will join us for coffee hour, in our Parish Hall, following the service. Our greeters will help you find your way!
God’s Blessings Be With You!
