Adult Bible Study
Christian education is an important ministry for all ages in the Episcopal Parish of Alton. Opportunities for spiritual growth and Bible study are offered throughout the year in various formats of instruction, study, and discussion designed to help adults gain a deeper grounding in their Christian faith.
An adult group meets in an informal setting prior to Sunday worship at St. Paul’s. During Lent, we are studying the scriptures for that particular Sunday prior to the morning service.
Tuesday Morning there is Holy Eucharist and Bible Study at Trinity Chapel with Mass beginning at 9:30 a.m. We enjoy some really good snacks, then Bible study follows from 10:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Mother Cindy and Mother Jane will be leading us through the Book of Esther. All are welcome for mass and/or Bible study. We learn so much, have great fellowship, and laugh a lot. Please come join us.
There is a Bible study group for people with any level of knowledge about the Bible beginning at 6:30 p.m. every other Tuesday. We are currently studying the life of Moses.
During the Lenten season, a celebration of the Eucharist is followed by our Wednesday evening program series accompanied by a light supper consisting of soup, cheese, and bread. The format for this program series varies from year to year ranging in format from in-depth Biblical focus group discussion, guest speakers, or video training programs.
We also invite you to visit our parish Library located in the hall adjacent to the office. Also, we have a Bookstore and Gift Shop located in Heneghan Hall at St. Paul’s, and peruse our excellent selection of books, devotional guides, videos, audios, CDs or DVDs available for individual study and spiritual enrichment.
